Perchance to Dream ....

We spend about one third of our lives asleep. While this critical physical renewing process takes place, our minds and imaginations also refresh themselves. Often, we work out psychological issues, deal with waking events and memories, and sometimes create whole interactive entertainments!

Our “rest” time is very active.

Carl G. Jung was a pioneer in recognizing that the dream world communicates with us using a variety of symbols. Others have built on or further developed these ideas, such as Fritz Perls, the father of Gestalt Therapy.

It is not within the scope of this work to delve into dreams and symbolism too deeply. I refer you to the Resources area for further study.

The goals of this section are to:

  • develop and explore a technique of working with dreams
  • incorporate dreamwork into the context of Journal writing

Dreamwork is an important part of personal growth and Journal work is an ideal means by which to fully explore dreams as teaching.
